January's issue of Forsyth County News is out now!
In this month's edition:
- Primary Early Voting Feb. 12–28: Early voting for the March 3 primary is available at eight voting sites throughout Forsyth County starting February 12.
- Health Fair & Naloxone Training: A community resource fair at Rupert Bell Neighborhood Center on February 10 offers health and social service resources, with a naloxone training session on Feb. 17 that teaches overdose reversal skills.
- Early Literacy Workshop: A workshop for parents and caregivers on Feb. 21 at the Forsyth County Central Library to promote early childhood reading and engagement.
- Income Tax Filing Assistance: Free tax help is available at several library branches through AARP WS Tax-Aide and the IRS VITA program with instructions and appointment details.
- Black History Month at Public Library: Events and activities throughout February at multiple library branches celebrating Black history and culture, including exhibits, STEAM programs, and Read-Ins.
- Joseph Sloop Named New County CIO: Joseph Sloop has been named the new Chief Information Officer for Forsyth County Government after a nationwide search.
- Property Tax Listing Deadline: Residents are reminded that Feb. 16 is the deadline to list taxable property for the year.
- No Ice Is Safe Ice: Safety reminder that frozen bodies of water are unsafe to walk on.
