The Lewisville Historical Society Presents ... Home: A Sense of Place with Brian Faulkner

Join us at the next meeting of the Lewisville Historical Society on Monday, May 12 at 6 p.m. for Brian Faulkner's reflection on Home, A Sense of Place. His presentation will consider the meaning of home and describe some of the historical homes he wrote about for the series.

Faulkner is an Emmy® award-winning Public Television writer and narrator best known for his work on PBS Carolina’s popular Our State TV series.

Living in Lewisville for more than four decades, Faulkner says he has “snooped around a lot” and will have some fascinating descriptions of “unique old homes hidden right around here.”

"Place is a spot on this earth where we get rooted early on,” he says, “where our feet, mind and heart first get planted. It's even possible to have two places in our hearts, Faulkner has decided, “one where we grew up and another where we moved and decided to stay."

Lewisville Historical Society Presents ... is a bimonthly program of the Lewisville Historical Society and the Lewisville Branch Library. It is free and open to the public. Participants do not need to be members of the society to attend.

A short business meeting of the society is held before the featured program. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, contact the Lewisville Branch Library at 336-703-2940 or the Lewisville Historical Society at 336-766-5842.
