Learn How "Mattering" is Related to Self-worth and Belonging

Join us during National Mental Health Awareness Week as R.V. Kuser, local mental health advocate and author, discusses why mattering is vital to our sense of self-worth and belonging, as well as the role it plays in helping to prevent loneliness. When we matter, we feel valued, appreciated, and respected in our own eyes and in the eyes of those around us. In particular, Kuser will explore the additional challenges that those living with mental illness may have in feeling mattered. He will connect points from his recent title, My Schizophrenia Story: We All Help Each Other, to this topic and to patterns of behavior that individuals can adopt to create a culture of mattering for all. This program is recommended for teens and adults.

Registration is recommended but not required. To register, call the Lewisville Branch Library at 336-703-2940 or email Sue deGuzman.
