Find out the Buzz About Backyard Beekeeping
Get the basics about backyard beekeeping from Rebecca Craps of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center, during this workshop at the Lewisville Branch Library. Rebecca will discuss how to choose and set up supplies, basic bee anatomy, identification of honeybees as compared to native bees, beekeeping through the seasons, and common challenges facing backyard beekeepers. Several tools of the trade, including a demonstration hive (no bees!), will be on display.
The workshop will also include information about the Forsyth County Beekeeper Association and its annual Bee School. Thanks to a donation from a local beekeeper, participants will have the chance to enter into a drawing to win a jar of local honey.
Registration is required to attend the Building Better Backyards for Birds workshop. Register
