Be inspired by Man's Best Friend at our next Family-Friendly Film

August’s installment of the Lewisville Branch Library’s Family-Friendly Films series is Arthur the King. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Simu Liu, and Juliet Rylance. ©2024 Paramount Pictures. All rights reserved.

Based on true events, the film tells the story of adventure racer Michael Light, and his team during a 10-day, 435-mile endurance race in the Dominican Republic. During the race, the team encounters a stray dog that tails them for miles. Michael names him Arthur for his resilience, and the dog becomes an unusual source of inspiration for the team.

This filmed was inspired by the book, Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home, written by Mikael Lindnod.
