Major Robert L. Settles, Jr. Retires
Major Robert L. Settles began his Law Enforcement career in 1993 as a Detention Officer. Major Settles earned several promotions throughout his career with his most recent promotion to the rank of Major on January 26, 2019.
During his career, Major Settles received several letters of commendation and a 25 Years’ Service Commendation Bar.
Major Settles proudly served in the US Marine Corps, E-6 Staff Sergeant from 1977-1992.
Throughout the course of his career, Major Settles served in various capacities within the Courtroom Security Services, Detention Operational Services Division, Detention Security Services Division, and Prisoner Services Section. At the time of his retirement, he was the Major of the Support Services Bureau.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office wishes Major Settles all the best in his future endeavors.
