Patty Donoghue, an illustrator and fine art artist, states “My work is varied but always bright and lively.... producing positive energy and enthusiasm. The tone remains fun and lighthearted. I play with inks, watercolors, acrylics, and oil, with wax mediums, and other textures and mediums." Her work has been on display in many juried exhibitions, public spaces, and solo shows, according to Donoghue. She shares that the most common response of gallery tourists is, "Your work makes me happy."

Donoghue is also a licensed occupational therapist. "In my youth," she explains, "art was a therapeutic outlet for me and has continued throughout my life. Visual arts offer evidence-based research that supports its contribution to mental health, sensory processing, as well as anxiety and depression reduction. I like to share the therapeutic value with others through gallery shows, classes, and work as an occupational therapist. As a member of the art community and Associated Artists of Winston-Salem, I support my fellow artists and promote creativity as a therapeutic mode in well-being."
