Carver Library to Host Programs in Recognition of National Caregivers Month

Celebrate National Caregivers Month at the Carver School Road Branch Library

November is National Caregivers Month and this year’s theme is “Caregiving Around the Clock.”. Caregiving is a tough job. This year, we remember, celebrate, and thank the ones who lovingly take care of our friends and loved ones. We are offering three programs given by Crystal Smoot of Triad Cardinal Geriatric Adult Specialty Team..

Thursday, Nov. 7, 11 a.m. - Depression
The First Thursday Friends welcomes Crystal Smoot who will discuss depression. With winter and the holidays approaching this will be of special interest and help to all caregivers and family members.

Monday, Nov. 18, 6 p.m. - What Caregivers Should Know
Smoot will share information with family and friends on being a caregiver. She will give tips and strategies to help during this time. Caregivers and family members are encouraged to attend. .

Monday, Nov. 25, 6 p.m. - Caregiver Burnout
Smoot will discuss Caregiver Burnout. This often happens due to the ongoing mental and physical tasks caregivers undertake daily. Attendees will be given information and tips to help them and will see they are not alone on this journey. Caregivers and family members are encouraged to attend.

All programs are free and open to the public.
