In honor of Hispanic Heritage we will be painting our own Alebrijes! Everyone will choose their own animal to paint. This class is for adults.
Alebrijes originated in the 1930s from Pedro Linares. While sick with a fever, he dreamt of fantastical creatures of various colors and patterns which he later replicated. Alebrijes are brightly colored Mexican folk art and can be found in sculpture form, painting, papier-mache and more. His work also caught the attention of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.
