Plants Remember Our Stories: A Workshop of Herbalism and Oral Histories

The Malloy Jordan East Winston Heritage Center will hold a workshop on plant medicines and oral histories of black and brown youth and elders by touring artists Blache Marie and Edgar Bernal Sevilla. The program is entitled Plants Remember Our Stories: A Workshop of Herbalism and Oral Histories.

Marie is a artist and herbalist who received a BFA from Cornell University. They use their personal history with medicine and energetic healing and ritual to mend wounds. Sevilla is a historian his work focuses on returning stories to their people.

The two are currently traveling across the U.S. on the tour Black Widow: Stories of Death and Rebirth.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 7 from noon - 2:00 p.m. at the Malloy Jordan Library, 1110 E 7th St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.

Light Refreshments will be served.
