Overdose Danger is Worse Than Ever...

Forsyth County (FC) is not immune to the opioid epidemic running rampant across the nation. Due to the witnessed increase in use and deaths from opioids, FC EMS initiated a Task Force made up of local and state partners. Goals include working collectively to improve access to treatment, identify gaps, prevent silos and duplication of efforts, maximize resources and to the keep community abreast of issues and activities related to addiction. Forsyth County's Opioid Task Force meets quarterly with the next meeting being October 18, 2017, 12:30 - 2:30 PM at the Forsyth County Dept. of Public Health located at 799 N Highland Ave, Winston-Salem, NC. The Task Force is also divided into smaller work groups. For more information on the Task Force, contact Capt. Tara Tucker at tuckertw@forsyth.cc.
