Big Bang Boom! Family Rock Concert and Songwriting Workshop Wednesday, July 6

Rock out at 2 pm on Wednesday, July 6, with Big Bang Boom! Get ready to laugh, clap, and tap your foot-- if not jump up and dance along.

As they describe themselves, "These dynamic dads play parent-friendly children’s music. After twenty years of touring, Chuck Folds, Eddie Willard, and Steve Walker decided to expand their horizons and play for parents (like themselves) who want MORE from children’s music.
They write songs with a pop sensibility by cleverly mixing alternative, hip-hop, pop, country, and other genres to create music that parents and children alike can relate to and enjoy."

At 1 pm on the same day, before the concert, teens are invited to a free Songwriting Workshop with the band. Big Bang Boom! has appeared on stages from Lollapalooza to local libraries. They bring practicing musicians' ideas on what it takes not only to craft a song and play in a band, but to make a living performing.

Come hear the band's ideas on what it takes to finish a song. Work through ideas, learn how to turn something bad into something good, and find out how to know when a song is done. What to bring? A guitar, a tambourine, your voice, or just a pice of paper. This workshop is about letting the creativity flow.
