Matt Sandbank's Shadow Factory Puppet Show, Walkertown

Walkertown Branch wraps up Summer Reading this week with Matt Sandbank's not-to-be-missed Shadow Factory puppets. Matt returns to Walkertown for another year by popular demand, thanks to funding by Friends of the Walkertown Library.

The Legend of Walter Weirdbeard starts promptly at 1 pm on Friday, July 31. Come early for a seat or spot on the auditorium floor. Free, 45 minutes long, and intended for ages 5 and up, this show features a crew of pirates seeking buried treasure. After much tragedy and travail on the high seas, they finally discover a valuable chest.

But does it hold gold? silver? jewels? Oh no--how could the contents be more valuable than these? When mayhem erupts among the crew, Captain Weirdbeard must think quickly to save his own life.

A combination of shadow puppetry and digital projections, this show includes a behind-the-scenes look at Matt's puppets. Matt hangs his hat in Austin, TX, but he tours nationally, performing for audiences of all shapes and sizes. His shows enliven the imagination, awaken curiosity, and excite audiences young and old about the power of creativity.
