The National Parks: America’s Best Idea
(Part 4, Going Home 1920-1933)

In this installment of Ken Burns documentary film series on our National Parks he looks at a time when the automobile allowed more people than ever to visit the National Parks; local folks campaigned to protect the virgin forest in the Smoky Mountains, and construction began on what would become the Blue Ridge Parkway. Monday, April 5th @ 6:30 pm Central Library Auditorium

What’s on Your Plate?
An insightful documentary film about kids and food politics. Sadie and Safiyah take a close look at food systems in the New York City area. With camera in hand, the girl guides talk to each other, food activists, farmers, new friends, storekeepers, their families, and the viewer, in their quest to understand what’s on all of our plates. Bring friends for fun food and a fun film. Special showing sponsored by FCPL and Slow Food Piedmont. Monday, April 12th @ 6:30 pm Central Library Auditorium

An epic story of adventure, starring some of the most magnificent and courageous creatures alive. Disney Nature brings you the stories of three animal families on a journey across our planet -- polar bears, elephants and humpback whales. Filmed with spectacular clarity and beauty, “Earth” is majestic and intimate as it captures rare footage of nature's wildest and most elusive animals. This astonishing, heartwarming film filled with adventure, suspense and humor will take your breath away. Monday, April 19th @ 6:30 pm Central Library Auditorium
