January is Food for Fines Month @ the Library

Here’s a great opportunity to keep the spirit of Christmas going after the holidays are over. As more of our friends and neighbors struggle in these trying economic times, putting food on the table has become a daily challenge. During the entire month of January all Library customers can pay their overdue fines with non-perishable food items at any Library location. For every item donated, one dollar in fines will be forgiven. Remember, only non-perishable food items will be accepted. Also, please make sure all donated food is within the printed expiration date. All food items collected will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina to help fight hunger throughout our community. Credits do not apply to replacement cost of new materials. For more information, call 703-3052
