New Software Program for Kids and Teens

Do you ever dream of designing your own video games and animations? A cool, new software program called SCRATCH makes it easy. Designed by students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to develop 21st Century learning techniques for kids ages 8 years and up, SCRATCH makes it easy and fun to mix graphics, photos, music, and sound to create something new and memorable.

Members of the Center for Design Innovation will be in the Teen Central department of Central Library on Thursday, January 22nd @ 4pm to demonstrate SCRATCH and answer questions about this exciting new software. As they create and share Scratch projects, young people learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.
