GIS Day 2012

GIS Day is an international celebration and forum for users of geographic information systems (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society. GIS Day is an opportunity for people to learn about geography and the uses of GIS.

GIS is used in many aspects of local, state and federal government and in the private sector as well. On Wednesday, November 14th various county and municipal departments will demonstrate their use of GIS and how it impacts our citizens.

Demonstrations will be held beginning at 10am in the BER room (1st floor county government center) followed by a keynote address at 11am. The keynote speaker is Anna Tapp, associate director of the Center for GISc at UNCG. A map gallery will be on display for the entire week of Nov. 12-16th at the Forsyth County Government Center.
