Your Job Search Starts at the Public Library

If you are not using library resources to power up your job search, you don’t know what you are missing!

Books
The library has excellent books to get you ready for your job search. Learn about the top careers, or careers that suit your personality and interests. You know to look for books at the library, but there are many additional resources to help you find a job.

Training
Do you need additional training? Use Library resources to learn the job skills you need – for free and at your own pace. Learn how to network - librarians can help you identify the perfect volunteer opportunity to help you to make connections. Use scholarship books to find the money for school. Need to update your computer skills? Computer classes at the Library are free and conveniently located all around Forsyth County.

Computer Access
Use Library computers to search for jobs, submit online applications, and write cover letters and resumes. Computers in the Information Services Department may be reserved for two hour blocks. You need a valid library card to use the computers. If you need lots of help creating a resume or with job applications, get started by attending drop-in job labs at the Central Library on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays from 9:00-11:00am.

Prepare for the Interview
The competition for jobs is fierce. Blow your competition away by preparing for your interview! The Library subscribes to free online business directories which are perfect for researching companies and finding out about trends and industry news. You don’t even need to come into the library because our online resources are available anywhere with Internet access.

Call the Central Library’s Information Services Department at 336-703-3020 to find out more about these important resources.
