The Friends of the Lewisville Library began in 1984 and currently have over 125 active members. Their Board meets regularly on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. The membership meets annually.

The Friends sponsors many fundraisers for the Lewisville Library every year, including an ongoing used book sale and two large book sales, in the fall and spring of the year. The Friends specialize in planning and co-sponsoring, along with the Library, quality and relevant programming for all ages. The Friends support the Library with donations of money for books and audiovisual titles, supplies, computers, artwork, equipment, and furniture.
