The Pistol Permits Team has shown commitment, professionalism, and teamwork in addressing a significant backlog of pistol permit applications caused by recent staffing changes, successfully bringing the agency into compliance with state regulations within a few weeks period. The Pistol Permits Staff went above and beyond their regular duties. They worked extended hours, including weekends, and took on additional responsibilities to ensure the timely processing of applications. Their efforts demonstrate a commitment to serving our community and upholding the Sheriff’s Office’s standards of excellence. Additionally, I would like to recognize Monica Wright and Tammy Hoover individually, two individuals from other sections of the agency, who contributed their time and experience to support this effort. Their willingness to step in and assist Pistol Permits represents the kind of teamwork that strengthens our agency; One Team, Many Missions. The collective efforts of the Pistol Permits Staff, supported by the contributions of Ms. Wright and Ms. Hoover, not only resolved the backlog but also set a strong example of commitment and teamwork. Their performance deserves recognition.
