On December 15, 2022, Deputy C. Jackson, was advised of an armed robbery reported to have occurred in the student parking lot of Mt. Tabor High School which is his assigned location. Deputy Jackson quickly began assessing the situation, speaking with the victim, and making notification to immediate supervision and school administration so school safety procedures could be activated. Upon review of the video surveillance footage, Deputy Jackson immediately observed glaring inconsistencies, providing an indication the story was not completely accurate. With this information, Deputy Jackson was able to quiet the evolving panic of the allegations and have the school removed from an elevated security protocol. Deputy Jackson’s actions resulted in minimal disruption to the educational environment and the fears of students and parents were put to rest. The outcome helped continue the growth of confidence in the actions of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
