On May 20, 2019, Officer Burgess was distributing new jumpsuits within the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center, when an inmate asked if he could have his old jumpsuit back due to leaving some numbers in the pocket. Officer Burgess became suspicious, searched the jumpsuit and located a handmade weapon. Thanks to Officer Burgess’ intuition and awareness, she helped maintain the safety and security of the detention center.
