A weak frontal boundary pushed through the Triad, early Wednesday, ushering in a drier air mass along with a slight amount of Canadian wildfire smoke. As a result, both ozone and particle pollution will return to code YELLOW, Wednesday. Thursday will be mostly sunny and warm, with temperatures peaking in the upper 80s with only a slight chance of a late day shower or thunderstorm. Winds will also be light leading to increased air mass stagnation and a continuation of MODERATE ozone and particle pollution levels. Moisture levels will begin to increase significantly, Friday and Saturday, leading to a much better chance of showers and thunderstorms. The unsettled weather will help to lower the AQI back to GOOD levels both days (GENTRY).
