Synopsis and Discussion
Sunny skies, hot temperatures, and lights winds are helping to push ozone higher and into the low code ORANGE range Friday. Particle pollution has returned to code YELLOW, as well. Large, strong, high pressure, over the SE US, responsible for the poor air quality, will remain in control through Saturday. Thus, code ORANGE ozone is forecast, again, for Saturday. Remember, code ORANGE is Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, meaning, childern, the elderly, and those with respiratory/heart issues need to limit their outdoor exertion, Saturday. A backdoor cold front will begin to press into the region, Sunday and Monday, providing clouds and the next chance of showers and thunderstorms. The more unsettled conditions will help to push the AQI lower and back to code YELLOW both days (GENTRY).
