Teen Chef: Pumpkin Mug Cake and Mini Calzones

Something savory and something sweet. We are making mini calzones and pumpkin mug cake. Teens will need to register and have their parent/guardian sign waiver for participation. Teen Chef is a simple cooking program catered to teens, showing them simple and often no bake recipes.

Teens are welcome to annual Cosplay Contest at Rural Hall Branch Library. Teens can wear costumes based on their favorite superheroes, manga characters, anime characters, or graphic novel characters. Halloween is just around the corner! Even though Halloween isn’t widely celebrated in Japan (although it is starting to become a little more popular, mostly among teens!), this time of year just calls for all kinds of spookiness. This month's anime club we will be discussing Japanese urban legends and watching a spooky supernatural anime. Come if you dare.

Loteria Accessories

STEAM for Teens: Day of the Dead

Adulting 101: Survival Skills for a Zombie Apocalypse

Come learn everything you need to know to prepare for the zombie apocalypse. Your ultimate zombie apocalypse survival kit will also function in real emergency situations, such as hurricanes, floods or pandemics.

Spooky Movie Matinee

Teens (ages 13-17) can join us in the Rural Hall Branch Library auditorium for a special movie showing. Service Saturday

Need to earn service hours? Join us at the Clemmons Branch Library for our Service Saturdays. Complete a service project for the community and earn an hour of service time for school. Practice your letter-writing skills this October by writing to a service member, new recruit, or veteran to thank them for their service. The letters will be sent to Operation Gratitude to include with their care packages.

Fiesta del Día de los Muertos

Celebrate día de los muertos with Walkertown Branch Library! We'll have themed activities and books in the children's area and the main section of the library. Presented with the Museum of Anthropology.

Día de los Muertos

Learn about the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos and celebrate your own dearly departed loved ones by painting calaveras (decorative skulls). All ages are welcome, snacks will be provided. Please register in advance.

Super Circuit Bracelet Workshop
4:30 p.m. at TEEN CENTRAL
Sewing a circuit is a fun, hands-on way to understand how they work. During this workshop, teens will construct a working and wearable circuit. You’ll experiment with a battery, conductive thread, conductive tape and an LED to learn how to connect a circuit, and then design a way for it to work on a wrist cuff.

Spookfest

It's terror time again! Back for another year Teen Central's Spookfest is even better than ever. This year we are paying homage to a true horror classic, the zombie. Come dressed in your best undead garb for a night of living fright. Teens can win a prize for the best zombie walk off, zombie costume, and zombified marshmallow. As always we will have tasty refreshments but remember to save room for the brain eating contest.

Visit these libraries in costume for a sweet treat and to take photos with the Halloween staff:

Visit the Lewisville Branch Library on Halloween and get a comic or some candy to take home (while supplies last). Costumes welcomed, but not required. We will have a variety of comics appropriate for children, teens, and adults.

Visit Rural Hall Branch Library anytime we are open to pick up a sweet treat at the front desk.
