Screening of the 1956 Film, Moby Dick.

Our featured title for On the Same Page this year is In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick. In the Heart of the Sea tells the incredible true story of the tragedy of the whaleship Essex, which long ago inspired Herman Melville to write Moby Dick. Join us for a free screening of the 1956 film adaptation of that classic adventure novel, starring Gregory Peck and Orson Welles.

Dr. Steve Jarrett, professor of Film and Media Studies at Wake Forest University, will give an introduction and talk about the making of the movie, which won director John Huston both the New York Film Critics Circle Award and the National Board of Review Award.

Light refreshments will be provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sunday, October 4th at 3 pm
Carswell Hall in the Annenberg Forum
