Synopsis and Discussion

AQI readings are low and Code Green following the passage of yesterday’s arctic cold front. Breezy conditions will continue for the next couple of days and the weather will not be conducive for the formation of nocturnal temperature inversions. Additionally, the air mass upstream is clean and with good ventilation, fine particles will not be able to accumulate within the air mass. Code Green readings are anticipated through midweek as a result. By Thursday, surface high pressure will begin to move northward a bit and over our area, promoting lighter wind speeds that will allow particle pollution levels to increase to the lower Code Yellow range.
