Resolution Regarding Establishment of an Out-of-Precinct Polling Place for Precinct 607

Regarding Establishment of an Out-of-Precinct Polling Place for Precinct 607 WHEREAS, the Forsyth County Board of Elections hereby finds, by unanimous vote of all its members, that a polling place with sufficient resources that is located outside precinct 607 must be established to effectively accommodate the voters assigned thereto.

WHEREAS, the Forsyth County Board of Elections propose the establishment of St. John’s Lutheran School, located at 2415 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, as the polling place to accommodate the voters assigned to precinct 607.

WHEREAS, the Forsyth County Board of Elections’ proposal is conditioned upon that:

(1) No facilities adequate to serve as a polling place are located in the precinct;

(2) Adequate notification and publicity are provided to notify voters in the precinct of of the new polling location;

(3) The plan does not unfairly favor or disfavor voters with regard to race or party affiliation;

(4) The new polling place meets all requirements for voting places including accessibility for elderly and disabled voters; and

(5) The proposal provides adequately for security against fraud.

WHEREAS, the Forsyth County Board of Elections’ proposal is subject to approval by the Executive Director of the State Board of Elections.

WHEREAS, the Forsyth County Board of Elections shall submit its proposal in writing to the Executive Director of the State Board of Elections.

THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that, pursuant to G. S. 163-130.1, the establishment of a polling place for precinct 607, St. John’s Lutheran and School, which is located outside that precinct be effective for the November 3, 2020 General Election. Approved this September 17, 2020.
