The Afterthoughts Book Club at Walkertown Branch Library will be discussing Helen Simonson's debut novel, "Major Pettigrew's Last Stand". Written with sparkling wit and comedy, the novel was beloved by critics when it was released in 2010. A comforting cup of tea leads to a blossoming romance between Major Ernest Pettigrew and Mrs. Jasmina Ali, but their English village eyes them with suspicion. Monday, February 26 through Monday, March 5, FCPL, as part of NC Cardinal libraries, will be migrating to a new support system. This will impact our catalog and library card system and services. We want to let you know what to expect during this transition and how it will temporarily impact our library card services. We also want to let you know how to best prepare for this transition.
Coloring has been linked to reducing stress and agitation as it refocuses the brain. Come to Walkertown Branch library and color your world beautiful! Did you know that there’s a book sale every day at the Walkertown Library? We get a lot of donations from our generous patrons, and the Friends organize it into our wonderful book sale. The stock changes every day, as we do a brisk business! Donations accepted.
Join us for an afternoon of board and tabletop games. Enjoy one of the games from the library or bring your own. Library games include Canasta, Dominoes, Trivia Pursuit, Cribbage, Bingo and many more. Next time we meet on Thursday, February 8, 2-5 pm.
