Lewisville Historical Society presents ...The Battle of Guilford Courthouse
Explore the Southern Campaign of the American Revolutionary War as it led to the pivotal Battle of Guilford Courthouse. At the next at the next Lewisville Historical Society Presents … on Monday, March 9 at 6 p.m.
After setbacks like Battle of Camden, American forces under Nathanael Greene used strategic maneuvering to weaken the British across North Carolina.
Key engagements included Pyle's Defeat and Weitzell's Mill, both shaping the road to Guilford Courthouse. There, heavy British losses under Charles Cornwallis helped turn the tide of the war.
Park Ranger Tom Sobol’s will bring these events to life through first-person accounts from Continental soldiers and local militia veterans that reveal the human texture of the campaign: long marches through winter mud, divided communities, sudden violence, and enduring resilience.
