Every year, during the first full week of April, the American Library Association and libraries across the United States celebrate National Library Week. This year the theme for National Library Week, celebrated from April 5 to April 10, is “Welcome to Your Library.”

While Forsyth County residents have always been “welcomed” at any of our 10 locations, we do believe that the adjustments we’ve made during the pandemic have created an opportunity for us to take a step back to assess, re-imagine and reintroduce ourselves to the community, so that hopefully every person who visits an FCPL location will feel more welcomed than they’ve ever felt before.

To help achieve this goal, effective April 5, we’re increasing our capacity limits at each of our libraries and expanding our Saturday hours. Though we are not yet hosting or supporting indoor programs or large group gatherings, several of our locations are also providing enriching and creative self-directed activities to go along with the vast array of virtual programs that we offer on a weekly basis.

As we continue to re-imagine ourselves we want to continue to invest in Forsyth County residents’ individual and collective success. By investing some of your time to take this brief survey, you can help ensure that the Library’s hours, services and programs reflect and respond to our community’s collective needs and interests. On behalf of our team, thank you for your responses and participation.

As pandemic conditions continue to improve and we continue to “open back up”, we look forward to welcoming you back into “Your Library”. Though some things have changed (see the video below), our smiles and service remain the same and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Best,

Brian
