The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity Art Exhibit at Central Library

The theme for Black History Month 2021 is The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity. The work of three Winston-Salem photographers, Ashley Johnson, Owens Daniels and Bobby Roebuck, will be on display in the Hallway Gallery at Central Library from Feb. 1 - March 31, 2021. All three artists present photographic images on a large scale, yet each artist handles their images stylistically and technically in different ways. These images address historical violence, joyful expression and quiet moments, and were created with the inspiration and influence of these artists' personal relationships with their Black families.

This exhibit is a project of the Library's Read to Right Wrongs initiative which serves to encourage our community members to use the library's programs, services and resources to inform and educate themselves about the various issues we're facing collectively as a society.
