#EPICReads Virtual Book Club

#EPICREADS is about letting teens read what they want and share with other teens and me. We meet once a month and talk about our #CURRENTLYREADING virtually. What could be better?

How about no predetermined book list? Yep, you can read whatever you like. I just ask that you come prepared to talk about a book. Each month I've designated a theme, and you can pick a book that falls within that theme or skip that month's theme and pick something yourself. This book club is designed to challenge us to read outside our regular reading habits. So I hope you'll join in and find a new fave. For those interested in reading along with me, I'm including my monthly picks.

We'll be meeting virtually using Zoom. You will be emailed a link and password to attend the Zoom meeting after you register. If you do not have a webcam or microphone, you may still attend.

This Month

March

  • Theme: Foreign Lands
  • Meeting: March 15 at 4 p.m.

The Light At The Bottom Of The World by London Shah

Arm chair traveling is the new rage. We are heading to different borders this month. No passport needed. This month pick a book that takes place in a foreign county. My pick has me enduring a subterranean existence beneath the ruins of a submerged London at the end of the 21st century, where a teen joins a prestigious submersible race in the hope of clearing her father’s name before unexpected corruption exposes devastating truths.

PumpkinHeads by Julie Kagawa

I know it’s almost summer. But there’s never not a good time to think about Halloween. This month we are exploring graphic novels. Pick a series, pick a standalone, doesn’t matter. This month my pick is about two best friends who work at a pumpkin patch every autumn, this year is their last year and they are organizing ultimate Halloween plans to celebrate.
