"Let the Record Show" takes old vinyl records and album covers, and turns them into art. The show is on display at Central Library's second floor gallery through the end of September and features paintings, videos, sculpture, clothing, lamps and more. The show was organized by the nonprofit DENT Creative Reuse Center and Art Laboratory in Winston-Salem.
“Latent Prints: A True Crime Book Club” will meet every fourth Monday at 12 p.m. beginning Monday, September 27. Participants are encouraged to join with their lunch as we discuss our latest read or topic of interest. We also hope to welcome guest speakers with experience in areas pertaining to true crime. The Alliance Book Club is a library book club dedicated to reading and discussing books by and/or about members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The second meeting will be Saturday, July 24 at 11 a.m. While the club meets virtually via Zoom, registration is required.
