Child Support Agent

General Description:
A highly energetic, highly motivated person is needed with great organizational, computer and communication skills in our Child Support Program. The successful candidate will interact with custodial and absent parents, legal and judicial professionals, employers, county and state employees. You will be responsible for enforcing civil orders, employment wage withholdings, attachment of State and Federal income taxes, referrals to credit bureaus, revocation of occupational and/or professional licenses, revocation of driver’s license and/or vehicles registration, liens and judgments. You may be asked to testify in court and verify all information provided. Automated Collection and Tracking System will be used to provide better service to our customers.

Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from high school or GED and three years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judicial, legal work or other relevant experience. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.

Child Support Agent

Custodian

General Description:
This fulltime entry-level position requires the ability to perform routine and non-routine custodial duties in the Government Center. The successful candidate will use professional housekeeping techniques to maintain county facilities. The ability to follow oral and written instructions is essential. Repetitive motion and moderate lifting are required.

Custodian

General Description:
The Custodian is responsible for keeping all assigned offices, restrooms, kitchens and meeting rooms neat & orderly. Duties will include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and washing floors, walls and windows. You will also polish furniture, clean carpets and perform all related work. The schedule may vary seasonally due to occupancy. You will need to work at least 24 hours per week. One year custodial experience is preferred.

Custodian

General Description:
The County's Parks and Recreation is seeking a motivated individual who can work part-time for approximately 15 hours per week. Duties would include all aspects of normal housekeeping work, such as, sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, making beds, small carpet cleaning duties, trash/litter removal and some office cleaning. You must be flexible in your work schedule due to the occupancy of the lodging facilities. One year previous custodial experience is preferred.

EMT Paramedic

Environmental Health Specialist

General Description:
Come join our team of environmental health specialists. The Department of Public Health is seeking a team member to conduct sanitation evaluations of foodservice, institutional and lodging facilities, child day care facilities and group homes at prescribed frequencies. Additionally, the successful candidate will issue permits to new/remodeled establishments, suspend/revoke permits if needed, conduct epidemiological investigations of foodborne disease outbreaks, and investigate and resolve citizens' complaints. You will be interacting with the public in a regulatory capacity on a daily basis.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health from a program accredited by the National Accreditation Council for Environmental Health Curricula of the National Environmental Health Association and one year of experience in the field of environmental health; or bachelor's degree with a minimum of 30 semester hours in the physical or biological sciences and two years of experience in the field of environmental health. Registered as an Environmental Health Specialist (Sanitarian) by the NC State Board of Sanitarian Examiners. Must have a valid NC driver's license. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE FOR A TRAINEE APPT: Graduation from a four-year college with a minimum of 30 semester hours of course work in the physical or biological sciences. Eligible to be registered as a Environmental Health Specialist (Sanitarian) Intern by the NC State Board of Sanitarian Examiners.

Fire Engineer

General Description:
The Fire Engineer responds to fire, rescue, haz-mat, medical and homeland security emergencies to support volunteer response. The successful candidate will drive fire apparatus to emergency scenes and operate same on scene as well as serve as fire ground officer on emergency scenes and as incident commander in the absence of a higher ranking officer. You will perform fire suppression and haz-mat operations on emergency scenes. You will also perform emergency medical care in a pre-hospital setting and then complete reports for all incidents. You will be expected to attend training to stay current and learn new firefighting, rescue, haz-mat, medical, and homeland security techniques. You will then prepare and deliver training to fire department personnel. Without supervision you will complete weekly equipment and truck checks to ensure readiness, routine equipment and truck maintenance, routine station maintenance, hydrant checks to ensure readiness, pre-fire surveys, and maintain all databases associated with the equipment.

Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from high school or GED. Must also have the following certifications: NC Fire Fighter Level I and II, NC Hazardous Material Level I (Haz-Mat Ops), NC Emergency Medical Technician, Instructor Level I Certifications or 3 years experience as a Fire Fighter. Must have a valid N.C. driver's license and be able to pass a Pre-Employment Physical.

Golf Assistant

General Description:
Tanglewood Par-3 Golf facility is seeking an individual with good customer service skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for opening & closing Par-3, day to day operations, and the accountability for cash receipts. You would also promote and sell merchandise. Par-3 is open daily and your schedule will vary. At least three months of experience dealing with the general public is preferred.

Grill Attendant

General Description:
Display your customer skills as a Grill Attendant at Tanglewood. The successful candidate is responsible for assisting customers in a golf course grill and concession area at the Tanglewood Swimming Pool. During the winter, you will assist in concessions during Festival of Lights, waiting on customers, cooking short-order foods, running cash register, cleaning grill and re-stock inventory. Schedules/hours are assigned and may vary. 8:00 am until 8:00 pm seven days a week.

In Home Care Aide

General Description:
Receive great satisfaction by working with the elderly and people with disabilities! Tasks include housekeeping, shopping, transportation, budgeting and home management. Personal Care tasks include assisting with personal hygiene, grooming, and medical monitoring. You must provide your own transportation to and from various job assignments. Mileage will be reimbursed. Certified Nursing Assistant with CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Minimum Requirements:
Ability to read and write information relevant to performing the work. May require a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)certificate. Prefer one year of related experience. Must have a valid NC driver’s license.

Maintenance Technician I

General Description:
This a part-time Maintenance Technician position that will perform daily duties including volleyball, softball field and horseshoe pit maintenance and preparing shelters for incoming reservation groups. During the day, you will meet with reservation groups, empty trash cans, clean grills and restrooms, and police grounds for litter. You will also blow off playgrounds, haul mulch, paint, operate front deck mower, and weedeat. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday March through October 1:30 pm until 10:00 pm and November through February 10:30 am until 7:00 pm. This position will assist other park employee in closing of the park on the above mentioned days.

Minimum Requirements:

Nutritionist

General Description:
If you like to work with women, infants, and children the Forsyth County WIC Nutrition Program has the job for you. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated Nutritionist who can provide services for the Women, Infants, and Children’s Program (WIC). Main responsibilities include assessing individual medical and dietary histories to determine eligibility, determining appropriate food package, providing nutrition assessment and counseling, breastfeeding promotion and education, completion of care plans. Some teaching and travel between facilities are required. Strong communication and customer service skills are a must. The ability to work within a team of other healthcare professionals, as well as, using your independent judgment is necessary. Computer skills are a must. Previous WIC experience is a plus. Work hours will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:00am until 5:00pm, Wednesday 8:00am until 8:00 pm and Friday 8:00am until 1:00pm.

Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, public health nutrition, or dietetics and one year of nutrition experience; or completion of a ADA approved dietetic internship with ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration eligibility preferred or master's degree in nutrition or public health nutrition with ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration eligibility preferred. Must have a valid N.C. driver's license.

Additional Minimum RequirementsA minimum of one-year of work experience as a Nutritionist preferred. Registered Dietitian with Commission of Dietetic Registration is a plus.

Park Attendant

General Description:
Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a person for the part-time position of Park Attendant at Union Cross Park. Duties include cleaning restrooms, preparing the ball field, using a variety of equipment such as tractors, blowers, bunker rakes and dealing with the public concerning information about park rules & facilities. Position works Thursday through Saturday year-round on "B" shift. Hours will vary from 5 hours in the winter to 8 hours in the summer.

Sr. Social Worker

General Description:
Use your great social work skills to make a difference in the life of a child. The Department of Social Services is in need of a caring social worker to provide social work services to children who have been identified as victims/potential victims of child abuse, neglect and/or dependency and to assist families in developing permanent plans for their children. The successful candidate will complete a thorough investigation of the situation, assess the risk to the child and take appropriate action. You will perform assessments and evaluations, review and monitor progress on set goals and complete required paperwork to ensure provision of service for families. You must understand and utilize correctly all Federal, State, and local laws, policies and procedures relevant to child abuse, neglect and dependency. Most of the responsibilities of the job take place outside of the office in client's homes, courtrooms, and schools. You must be able to observe and report observations and communicate with persons from a range of social and economic backgrounds and a variety of mental capacities.

Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only); Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master's degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling; Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience.

Telecommunicator

General Description:
The Telecommunicator is responsible for operating an enhanced 911 emergency system involving a network of complex equipment. You will answer calls requesting emergency assistance and ask callers appropriate questions in determining the proper response needed. The success candidate dispatches fire and rescue personnel and equipment in addition to the appropriate fire department and the amount of response based on computer aided dispatch information and standard operating procedures. You will also dispatch emergency medical service personnel to respond to medical emergencies. Duties also include providing pre-arrival instructions to callers. You must respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Judgment is required in making quick decisions during emergencies. You will respond promptly to mutual aid request from adjoining counties and patch in out of county ambulances to the hospitals. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated through conferences and review of operations. The schedule is subject to 12 hour rotating shifts.
