Receive the Pollen Report by Email

What is the Pollen Report?
Each weekday afternoon during the pollen season, the Forsyth County Environmental Affairs Department emails the daily Pollen Report to all our Pollen Report subscribers. Our local pollen season typically occurs from late February through late October.

The Pollen Report indicates the day's pollen rating and predominant pollen type (trees, grasses, or weeds). A pollen forecast for the next three days is also included in the report. A typical report looks like the example shown below:

How do I subscribe?
Anyone with an email address is welcome to sign up to receive the Pollen Report. There is no cost for the service, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Subscriptions are handled automatically by Forsyth County's "list server". The list server stores the email distribution list for the Pollen Report. The list server enables you to subscribe to the Pollen Report simply by sending a special email message to the server.

To subscribe to the Pollen Report, send an email message according to the four steps shown below:

  1. In the "TO" box type: listserv@uhura.forsyth.cc
  2. Leave the "SUBJECT" box blank.
  3. In the body of the message type the following line of text: subscribe pollen
  4. Send the message!

Soon after sending the email, you will receive an email confirmation from listserv@uhura.forsyth.cc.

After that your first Pollen Report will arrive the next weekday afternoon between 2:45 and 3:45 PM.

How do I unsubscribe?
If you decide that you do not wish to receive the Pollen Report anymore, it is easy to unsubscribe. Simply follow the instructions above except type unsubscribe pollen in the message body instead of subscribe pollen.
