Self-Care Programs for Your Wellness

Sometimes it's hard to take the time to give yourself some self-care. Luckily, there are many programs at our FCPL branches where you can come and get started on your wellness journey. From yoga to Tai Chi, there's sure to be something for you to enjoy.

Lewisville Branch Library
Mindful Meditation for Beginners
Psychologist, Reiki practitioner, healer, and intuitive reader Maria Garcia will guide participants in various forms of gentle meditative practice. Learn how to release and relax the body, mind, and spirit.
Thursday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m.

Color and Coffee Group
Coloring has been linked to reducing stress and agitation as it refocuses the brain. Adult coloring clubs and parties have become popular across the country and now the fun is on at Lewisville!
Every second and fourth Friday of the month at 10 a.m.

Tai Chi for Beginners
Local instructor, Master Lijun Tang, will guide you through the 24 movements of simplified tai chi with a gentle focus on the connection of body, mind, and breath. Enjoy this moving meditative practice at your public library.
Friday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m.

Walkertown Branch Library

Come to a free one-hour Yoga session for adults and enjoy the health benefits of gentle Yoga exercise. Bring your exercise mat, a small blanket or a beach towel. The instructor is Lisa Kushner, the owner of the "Yoga Path" studio in Kernersville, NC. For all levels of fitness.
Every Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

Fitness Walk
Would you like to become more fit with just a short walk each day? Join the library's Fitness Walk! We have a great group leader, a certified fitness instructor Robin Klar. We meet at the library and walk in the area.
Every Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Stay Positive Program
Do you ever worry about the future? Looking Forward describes and demonstrates how to “look forward” to the future--including tomorrow--with increased positivity, confidence and lightheartedness. Participants typically leave the meeting feeling good, with a greater sense of optimism, wellbeing and connection with others. The program is geared toward older adults.
