Create Spine Label Poetry

During Teen Read Week (Monday, October 8th-Saturday, October 14th), teens are encouraged to read and visit their local library for special events. To coincide with this year’s theme, “Unleash Your Story,” teens are welcome to create spine label poetry at Rural Hall Branch Library.

To create spine label poetry, teens start with one or two books that appeal to them and add additional books that compliment the original selection. Each book title creates one stanza of a short poem.

Once the poem is completed, teens are encouraged to take a picture of their poem to share with friends and family! For more information, please call Rural Hall Branch Library at 336-703-2970.

For more information on Teen Read Week, visit the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) website.
