Support local foods and eat local year round!

Carrots are the vegetable of the month for March. Carrots are a good source of Vitamin A, Vitamin K, beta-carotene and fiber. Carrots are low in calories, crunchy and great to dip in hummus. In addition to carrots, Bok Choy, spinach, salad greens, peanuts and rutabaga are also in season in March.

Eating a diet with a colorful and wide variety of fruits and vegetables supports optimal health. You can find local foods at Farmers Markets and some local food outlets.
