FCSO Receives Honorary Flag

On Tuesday, May 31st, Sheriff William T. Schatzman and the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) were presented with a flag that was flown in support of “Operation Inherent Resolve” combat mission in Southwest Asia. Detention Officer R. S. Haynes requested the honor. The flag was placed in honor of the FCSO and its employees for their unending service to the citizens of Forsyth County. Detention Officer Haynes was deployed in 2015 and served as Security Supervisor and Fire Team Leader.

Detention Officer Haynes is a Technical Sergeant with the North Carolina Air National Guard, 145th Security Forces Squadron. His extensive military service includes US Air Force 1982-1986 assigned to Security Police and US Air Force Academy. Detention Officer Haynes enlisted with the Vermont Air National Guard in 1990 and served until 1996. He reenlisted in 2007 and transferred his Air Guard commitment to the North Carolina Air National Guard in 2008.

Detention Officer Haynes retired from the Burlington, Vermont Police Department with over 20 years of service and has experience as a Crime Scene Technician with the Winston-Salem Police Department. Detention Office Haynes has been a member of the FCSO since 2013.
