Creek Week Tuesday Storytime at Walkertown, March 17

Library storytimes offer many benefits to children.

* Enjoying books shared aloud helps children develop a lifelong love of reading. When children see their caregivers and other adults enjoying Storytime, they see powerful examples of the importance of books.

* Children get a chance to socialize. Children who stay at home with a caregiver may not spend a lot of time with other children. Storytimes provide a way to learn and practice social skills.

* Little listeners have a good time at their own pace. With age-appropriate songs and rhymes, simple discussions, and occasional crafts or games, Storytime is more interactive than just watching or hearing a book on the screen of a phone, laptop, or TV.

* Storytimes help children feel welcome and comfortable in the library. The mission of Forsyth County Public Library is connecting our community to reading, information, and lifelong learning. Ideally, all patrons feel welcome walking through library doors, starting with one's first steps.

At Storytime this month, experience Hopping for Frog Stories on Tuesday, March 17 and "How Does Our Garden Grow?" on Tuesday, March 24. On Friday, March 20, homeschoolers in grades K-2 are invited to Frog Songs and Stories, featuring Pete Seeger's "The Foolish Frog," 11 - 11:45 am. On Tuesday, March 31, get ready to giggle at Silly Stories with Ms. Jessica Hassler.

Storytimes: Tuesdays at 10:30 am, Walkertown Branch Library, 2969 Main St. Walkertown, NC, 27051. Call (336) 703-2990 for more information.
