Traditional Indian Dance in Walkertown

A Bharatanatyam recital in the classical Indian dance form. You will see humor, jealousy, compassion, and strength portrayed through intricate traditional Indian dance by Uttara Thanigaivasan from India. She was classically trained in Vazhuvoor style of Bharatanatyam by Dr. Radhika Unnithan. Hand movements and gestures (hasta mudras) help to depict the story. Soft facial expressions (abhinaya) are used to convey the dramatic theme of the dance.
