Freegal Mixtape: #Steampunk

Characterized by the use of steam-powered machinery and settings inspired by the industrialized Western civilization during the 19th century Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that is quickly growing in popularity. Likewise Steampunk music is starting to become just as popular showing up in movies and mainstream music. Steampunk music includes a broad range of musical styles and interpretations, from industrial dance and world music to folk rock, hip-hop to opera (and even industrial hip-hop opera).

We pulled a sampling of artists that are being identified in this imaginative sub-genre, all free from our Freegal Music.
