The Library: Connecting People To Books and Reading

If you’re always looking for good sources for what’s new and noteworthy, the Library provides the means for always finding something good to read with power tools such as NextReads and NoveList Plus, online resources for building a personalized reading list.

Using these two tools, the world of books is yours to discover. Maybe it’s the right finance book, cottage mystery, youth or teen read, award winner or author read-alike. Bookmarks to complement these resources are also in our libraries; and for alerts on upcoming blockbusters, ask your librarian about our What’s New list, available monthly in-house and online.

Use your library to connect with other readers, writers, and book lovers. Our annual community read programs, On the Same Page in the fall and On the Same Poem in the spring both offer opportunities to explore the printed word by attending book discussions, films, and author talks. Feature programs during Black History Month, National Library week in April, and Summer Reading provide more venues for discovery and remember to ask about ongoing book clubs in various library locations. Assistance is always available to connect you with any of these resources and of course, if you simply want a book recommendation, ask a librarian.
