2009 Library Employee Of The Year

Elizabeth Skinner has been named the 2009 Forsyth County Public Library Employee of the Year. Skinner, who was promoted to Assistant Director earlier this fall, started her FCPL career in 1985 as the Government Documents Librarian at Central Library before serving as the Adult Services Librarian at Clemmons Branch Library. Following a return to Central Library, she worked in Business Science ACE and Humanities before working stints as branch manager first at Walkertown Branch Library and then at Southside Branch Library. Most recently she was Public Services Manager at Central Library prior to assuming her new duties as Assistant Library Director.

Elizabeth’s contributions to the Library System have been numerous. In addition to her regular day-to-day duties, she has coordinated the popular Digital Forsyth Photo Project, coordinated the On the Same Page/Big Read community reading program, and expertly managed the physical re-organization of Central Library, a task that required months of strategic planning, perseverance and patience. The Forsyth County Public Library congratulates Elizabeth Skinner on being named the 2009 Forsyth County Public Library Employee of the Year.
