Fee Schedule

Effective October 1, 2009

The uniform fees set forth below are complete and exclusive and no other fees shall be charged by the Register of Deeds. These fees shall be collected in every case prior to filing, registration, certification. or other service rendered by the Register of Deeds unless by law it is provided that the service shall be rendered without charge G.S. 161-10 as amended.

• For filing or registering corporation charters, partnership records or other instruments when no other specific provision is made - $14.00 for the first page (includes $2 Verification fee GS 47-14), plus $3.00 for each additional page, or fraction (pages larger than 8 1/2" x 14" treated as two)
• For filing or registering deeds when no other specific provision is made - $19.00 for the first page (includes $2 Verification fee GS 47-14), plus $3.00 for each additional page, or fraction (pages larger than 8 1/2" x 14" treated as two)
• For filing or registering deeds of trust or mortgages - $30.00 for the first page (includes $2 Verification fee GS 47-14), plus $3.00 for each additional page, or fraction (pages larger than 8 1/2" x 14" treated as two)
• Verification - $2.00 (G.S. 47-14) for passing on certificates or proof of acknowledgment
• Multiple Documents - shows on the first page it contains two or more instruments that could be recorded separately (i.e. Deed of Trust and Req. for Notice); $10 for each additional instrument. Note: Register is not required to index any multiple instrument whose title does not appear on the first page of the document.
• Non-standard Documents - $25.00 in addition to other applicable recording fees (see G.S. 161-14b for recording standards)
• Certified Copies - for furnishing certified copies where not provided for otherwise $5.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page
• Comparing Copy for Certification - for comparing and certifying copy of instrument filed for registration when copy is furnished by party filing instrument at time recorded - $5.00 per instrument
• Uncertified Copies in Forsyth County - $.25 per page - $1.00 for the first page and $.25 for each additional page if obtained by mail
• Acknowledgement - $5.00 - for taking acknowledgment, oath or affirmation, or for performance of any notarial act, done in conjunction with any official action performed within the Register of Deeds office
• Qualification of Notary Public - $10.00 (G.S. 10-2) for administering oath and making appropriate record entries
• Certification of Notary Commission - $5.00
• Removal of Graves certificate - $12.00 for the first page, plus $3.00 for each additional page

(Other services are covered by general fee provisions)

• Plats - each original or revised plat recorded - $21.00 per page
• Plats - furnishing certified copy of plat - $5.00
• Plats - uncertified copy - $2.00
• Right of Way Plans - each original or amended plan and profile sheet recorded - $21.00 for the first page, plus $5.00 for each additional page
• Torrens Registration - such fees as are provided for instruments in general
• Blank or Master Forms - such fees as are provided for instruments in general

• Certified Copies of Birth, Death or Marriage Records - $10.00

Marriage Licenses

• issuing license - $60.00
• issuing delayed certificate with one certified copy - $20.00
• proceeding for correction of names in application, license or certificates with one certified copy - $10.00
• Amendment of Birth and Death Record - for preparation of amendment, and effecting correction - $25.00 ($10 to ROD, $15 to BVS - plus $10 for each certified copy)

Registration of Delayed Birth Certificates

• preparation of papers when birth to be registered in another county - $10.00
• registration when papers prepared in another county with one certified copy - $10.00
• registration when papers prepared in same county with one certified copy - $20.00

Legitimation

• preparation of records for legitimation - $25.00 ($10 to ROD, $15 to BVS - plus $10 for each certified copy)

GS 25 Article 9 - county level fees

• Original Financing Statement, Amendment or Continuation effective July 1, 2001, only original financing statements and amendments whose collateral include fixtures, timber to be cut, or as-extracted collateral should be filed in the local office.
• 1 to 2 pages - $38
  3 to 10 pages - $45
  over 10 pages - $45 + $2 per page over 10
• Copy of filed paper - $1.00 per page
• Certificate of Information - UCC 11 Search - $30.00 (only records filed prior to July 7, 2001)
• Computerized list of index entries - $30.00

• Notice of Foreclosure - same fees for instruments in general
• Foreclosure by Trustee - $5.00

• Filing and recording discharge, etc. - no fee
• Certified copy - no fee
