Thank you for being such wonderful Library customers! Our staff is here to give you the best service we can, and we enjoy it because our customers understand libraries - understand what they actually do and provide.

I see every day how answers are found for people who started looking somewhere else; how our North Carolina Room librarians continue to dig up seemingly impossible-to-find things about our community and its citizens; how children and their families enjoy great programs; how lifelong production workers are taught to confidently open the door to computers, allowing them to pursue a new career; and how teens, pressured by their social group to drop out, become involved again, urged on by an experienced Teen Services Librarian.

You’ve been hearing what a new Central Library can bring to Forsyth County, and it’s true. But until that happens, our job is to meet your specific needs. If you find that you can’t do it all yourself, ask at your Library.

Sadly, what we have seen lately, since the 2007-08 statistics were submitted, is so many folks using the library because the economy is driving them down. Our use had gone up the last year mainly because the library is where people can get what they need - and not have to pay. So start at your library. It’s one of Forsyth County’s great gifts in times like these.
