2010 Triad Commute Challenge

Triad Air Awareness, in partnership with the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART), is hosting the fourth annual Triad Commute Challenge April 10 - July 10. This three-month pledge drive will heighten awareness regarding air quality while challenging people to try an alternate commute option at least one time instead of driving alone. Last year, more than 2,500 people pledged to carpool, vanpool, ride the bus, bike, walk or telecommute! As a result, participants saved approximately $140,000 in fuel expenses while reducing over 1.2 million vehicle miles of travel!

This year the Challenge was kicked off with Congressman Howard Coble and Greensboro Councilwomen T. Dianne Bellamy-Small at Triad Park in Kernersville, with a three mile race and walk event held on April 10th. The Lone Rider and Scooter the Commuter made special appearances as well.

We need your help to promote Share the Ride – Clean the Air. Make a personal commitment to take the pledge and encourage your family, friends, and co-workers to do the same. For additional information about the Triad Commute Challenge visit http://www.partnc.org/challenge.html. With your help, this will be the best year yet!

“Take Action!"

The choices we make each day have an impact on our air quality and the environment in a positive way or a negative way.

  1. You can choose to reduce the emissions that contribute to air pollution and negative environmental impacts.
  2. You can choose to protect your health when the air quality is bad.

Please look at our Driving Tips Brochure to learn how to save gas, money, and provide for a cleaner and healthier environment. If you are interested in hosting an onsite visit where we can talk to your group or employees about commuting options, please call PART at 336-662-0002.
